In this collection of photos, we will take you through famous brother duos who played in IPL 2023.
After dominating IPL with Mumbai Indians Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya parted ways in 2022. Hardik was named captain of Gujarat Titans while Krunal was signed by Lucknow Super Giants.
Dwayne Bravo, a veteran of IPL since 2008, played a crucial role for the Chennai Super Kings in their two winning campaigns. Meanwhile, brother Darren only played one match in 2012 for Deccan Chargers and failed to impress in his KKR stint.
Since the beginning of IPL, the Pathan brothers played against each other. Irfan was part of five teams before being dropped and not picked this season, while Yusuf shone for Rajasthan Royals but struggled at KKR. He's now at Sunrisers Hyderabad, but Irfan has been absent since 2020.
Former IPL regulars Morne and Albie Morkel from South Africa, who won titles with KKR and CSK respectively, were not picked in the last two auctions, hence not featuring this season.
Brendon McCullum's IPL career flourished after a stunning 158* in the first-ever IPL match. He went on to play for KKR, Kochi Tuskers, CSK, and Gujarat Lions. Meanwhile, Nathan's IPL career never took off, playing only a couple of games for Pune Warriors and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Since the first season of IPL, Australians Michael and David Hussey have been prominent members of their respective teams. Michael smashed 733 runs and won the Orange Cap for Chennai in 2013 before moving to Mumbai Indians. He later ended his IPL career with Chennai in 2015 and now coaches for them. Meanwhile, David played for KKR, KXIP, and CSK before retiring in 2014.
Shaun Marsh has been a Kings XI Punjab loyalist, playing for them since the first IPL season in 2008. He was the top run-scorer in the inaugural season and had a decent run in 2011, but his form has dipped since. He was released in 2018 and didn't find any takers in the subsequent auction. Mitchell Marsh had an underwhelming IPL stint, playing for Deccan Chargers and Rising Pune Supergiant before opting to play county cricket in 2018.
