The United States of America pulled off one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history by defeating Pakistan in a Super Over during a Group A match in Dallas on Thursday. The game went to a Super Over, where the USA came out on top. Batting first, the USA scored 18 runs. In Pakistan’s reply, Saurabh Netravalkar shone by giving away just 13 runs and taking the wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed.
Monank Patel, born in Gujarat, played age-group cricket for the state before relocating to the US. Monank Patel showcased his champion batting skills against Pakistan's top bowlers. He captained USA in the 2021 T20 World Cup Americas Qualifiers.
Saurabh Netravalkar stood out for the USA cricket team in their victory against Pakistan. He was previously the team's captain. Born in Mumbai, Saurabh represented India at the U19 World Cup in 2010, alongside KL Rahul. Currently, he works for Oracle.
Harmeet Singh was a member of the India squad that won the 2012 U19 World Cup led by Unmukt Chand. He left Indian cricket in 2020 and relocated to the USA a year later. Harmeet made his debut for the USA team earlier this year in a T20I against Canada in April.
Nisarg Patel was born in Gujarat but moved to the USA with his family during his teenage years. They settled in Southern California, where he played for the team in the 2006 U19 World Cup. He debuted for the senior USA team against Canada in 2017.
Milind Kumar, originally from Delhi, played cricket for his home state in the Ranji Trophy. He retired from Indian cricket in 2021 and moved to the United States. In 2023, he played for the Texas Super Kings in the MLC and recently made his debut for the USA national team in a T20I against Canada in April.
