Shinzo Abe, Japan's former Prime Minister died on Friday after being shot during a campaign speech in western Japan. Local fire department official Makoto Morimoto said Abe was in cardio and pulmonary arrest after being shot and was taken to a prefectural hospital. Meanwhile, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters that police arrested an alleged male attacker at the scene who is reported to be a former member of the Marine Self-Defence Force. The entire world is mourning the loss of the influential global leader, who catalysed Japan's economic growth under his leadership.
