CHANDIGARH: A man posing as an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was arrested in Ludhiana. Apart from police uniform, licensed revolver, VIP beacon and unauthorised documents were recovered from his possession by the police.
The police also found several police department stars used on the uniform, revolver case and police sticks with the arrested man.

According to Ludhiana Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, the cops were tipped by media reports, and that the man had paid courtesy visit to people and clicks photographs with them.
“We arrested a man who, as per media reports, had been going around posing as an IPS Officer. About the photos going around, he used to go for courtesy visit to people & click photos with them, said Surendra Lamba, ADCP, Ludhiana.
He added that the police department would investigate the case in detail.
The man had reportedly posed as an IPS officer from Uttar Pradesh cadre of 2015 batch.
