Patiala: Punjab's oldest district Patiala participated with zeal in Punjab assembly elections 2017. The city of Jalandhar is divided into two constituencies namely Patiala and Patiala (Rural).
- Captain Amrinder Singh has won from Patiala urban seat by a margin of over 51000 votes
- Brham Mahindra of Congress wins Patiala rural
- Captain Amarinder Singh leading by 3500 votes from Patiala seat.
Baring the city, there are five more constituencies making the total number seven across Jalandhar district. These constituencies are Rajpura, Ghanaur, Sanour, Samana, Shutrana (SC).
