Notorious gangster Anand Pal Singh's encounter on June 24 has triggered violence in some parts of Rajasthan prompting the authorities to clamp Section 144 in four districts and suspending internet services till situation normalises.

According to ANI, at least 16 people were injured in a protest by the Rajput community demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the encounter of gangster Anand Pal Singh.

A Superintendent of Police was among those who was inured in violence in a village in Rajasthan`s Nagaur district on July 12 over what the protesters call an alleged staged gunfight.

According to reports, thousands of persons had gathered in the Sanwarda village from all over the state to demand a probe by the Central Bureau of Inquiry into the death of gangster Anandpal Singh on June 24. 

Angry villagers then attacked police with stones and set afire a police vehicle late on July 12.

Though police denied it, eyewitnesses said at least four protesters were injured too.

Three seriously injured policemen were referred to a Jaipur hospital.

His family claimed he was killed despite his willingness to surrender before police and that it was a part of the political conspiracy to eliminate him.

The protesters also damaged a section of the railway tracks in the area, following which rail traffic was diverted between Ladnu-Kuchaman section.

Earlier, police was deployed and Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure imposed in the village due to the protest. 

Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje has been briefed by the top officials and she is believed to have ordered the officials to monitor the situation.
