Kajol to return to Tamil cinema after 20 years, will share screen space with this superstar

Kajol had made her Tamil debut with ‘Minsara Kanavu’ in 1997 opposite Prabhudheva and Aravind Swamy.

Mumbai: Tamil superstar Dhanush’s ‘VIP 2’ will mark Kajol’s return to Tamil cinema after a span of almost two decades! The very talented actress, who had made her Tamil debut with ‘Minsara Kanavu’ in 1997 opposite Prabhudheva and Aravind Swamy, will be seen in the second part of the super-hit movie ‘VIP’.

"Kajol will act with Dhanush for the first time. She is acting in Tamil after a long gap," the producers said in a release.

The movie to be directed by Soundarya went on floors on Thursday with Rajinikanth, Dhanush's father-in-law, initiating the proceedings of the film jointly produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films and ‘Kalaipuli' S Thanu.

Besides producing the film, Dhanush has also penned the story and dialogue.

Amala Paul, Vivek, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthrakani are also a part of  ‘VIP 2’.
