Chennai: Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan said he has become more responsible while working with director Mohan Raja in the upcoming film 'Velaikkaran'.

The 32-year-old actor said he does not want to misguide people through advertisements and attributed his sudden decision to a crucial scene in the film.

"After working in 'Velaikkaran', I feel more responsible. I've worked in a television commercial once. I promise now that I won't endorse any brands henceforth in my career."

"There's an emotional sequence in the story, which has led me to this decision. I'm not at liberty to talk about the scene now. But, it left an indelible mark on me," Sivakarthikeyan told reporters at the audio launch of the film.

Produced by RD Raja's 24AM Studios, the film marks the foray of Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil into Tamil cinema.

Heaping praise on Fahadh, Sivakarthikeyan said, "I would call him an international actor. He can act with any actor from any part of the world. I was awestruck. Then, I gave up competing with him and started to enjoy watching him perform. I imbibed a bit from him, and it has enhanced my performance a lot in this film."

Also featuring Nayanthara in a key role, 'Velaikkaran' has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Sivakarthikeyan said he has been Nayanthara's fan since Ajith's 'Aegan' days.

"I worked with Nayanthara for the first time in 'Ethir Neechal' where she did a dance number. She worked without taking any remuneration because young talents were involved in the film. She has always been punctual and dedicated. Once she comes on the sets, she will not leave without completing the day's shoot. It is with this approach she's able to carve a niche for herself at the box office with women-centric films," he said.

Raja lauded Anirudh for his music score, saying the composer delivered more than what he expected.

"Because it's Anirudh's work that's going to leverage all our hard work in the film. And after the response to chartbuster 'Karuthavanlam Galeejam,' I'm pretty confident that this song alone will pull more audience into the theatres," he said.

The director said the overwhelming reception to his last outing, 'Thani Oruvan', encouraged him to make another social message driven movie.

"More than the box-office performance of 'Thani Oruvan,' the public's response to the film gave me great satisfaction. Some people encouraged me to take more time if needed and deliver something along the same lines again.

"I realised the strength of our youth during Chennai floods and the Jallikattu protest in Marina. I have tried to portray the spirit of our youngsters in this film," he said.

Also featuring Prakash Raj, Sneha and RJ Balaji in important roles, 'Velaikkaran' is slated to hit screens on December 22.
