Vidya Balan to make her Telugu film debut with biopic on NT Rama Rao

New Delhi: After winning all the accolades with her performance in 'Tumhari Sulu', Vidya Balan is set to make her Telugu film debut. 

The 39-year-old actress will be seen playing the role of the first wife of late South superstar and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao in his biopic. The film will also feature Nandamuri Balakrishna as NTR Rao's late father. 

As per reports, the film will be directed by Teja and the shooting will reportedly commence in Hyderabad. 

The New Indian Express quoted a source saying that a huge set has been created by the makers to shoot a crucial scene featuring Balakrishna for two days. Incidentally, the shoot will happen at the same place where NTR filmed the first scene of his mythological film Daana Veera Soora Karna. 

The remaining cast of the film is yet to be finalised. It is to be noted that Vidya has also been approached to play the role of Sridevi in her biopic, planned by Hansal Mehta. 

It would be interesting to know that this is not the only biopic that is being made on the life of the former Chief Minister. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and producer Kethi Reddy Jagdeswara Reddy are also planning to come up with their biopics on the life of NTR Rao.
