New Delhi: As the world awaits the latest venture in the Star Wars franchise – Star Wars: The Last Jedi – NASA, it seems, doesn't want the astronauts at the International Space Station (ISS) to miss out.

Rian Johnson's space opera will be screened at the ISS with the American space agency sending a screener to the astronauts.

Confirming the same, Spaceflight reporter Robin Seemangal wrote on Twitter: "I received confirmation from Disney and NASA sources that the crew aboard the International Space Station will be screening Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

Providing a few details to Inverse, NASA's Public Affairs Officer Dan Huot said: "[I] can confirm the crew will be able to watch it on orbit.

"Don’t have a definitive timeline yet. They typically get movies as digital files and can play them back on a laptop or a standard projector that is currently aboard."

It is possible that the movie will be sent inside the SpaceX dragon capsule that's headed to the ISS on Friday, the Inverse report said.

According to a report in The Verge, enjoying movies on board the ISS is not unusual and the space station is stocked with an extensive digital library of more than 500 titles, including classics and newer hits.
