Lord Ganesha – also known as Vighna Harta (remover of obstacles) or Vinayaka is a revered Hindu God. Hindus offer their prayers to the Lord before any new beginning. The son of Maa Parvati and Lord Shiva is worshipped first before conducting Poojas. Taking his name before starting a new venture results in the smooth execution of tasks.

Even in wedding invitation cards, the Lord's name is first mentioned so as to prevent obstacles during the ceremony. Moreover, the first invitation card is kept at the Lord's feet to seek his blessings.

Tuesdays are dedicated to Lord Ganesha, also popular as Ganpati. Every Mangalwar (Tuesday), one can chant the following Mantra to prevent hurdles on the path to success and happiness. And today is a very special day - Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi or Angaraki Chaturthi.
