About 300 turtles abandoned in a bag were recovered by the police at Kalyan last evening.
Thane: About 300 turtles abandoned in a bag were recovered by the police at Kalyan last evening.
Police said that a rickshaw driver spotted an abandoned bag near the local bus stand containing about 300 turtles of different varieties. The police later released them in the nearby Kalu river.
Police said that turtles were sought to be smuggled out and that they were on the look out for the persons responsible for carrying the turtles which would be worth about Rs 90,000.
