New Delhi: The controversy surrounding the corruption scandal that recently rocked Cricket South Africa (CSA) took a dramatic turn on Friday with two active former Test cricketers being investigated by the authorities.

According to a report in the Guardian, investigators spoke to 47 players and staff in the country.

On Thursday, CSA named retired one-day all-rounder Gulam Bodi as the ‘intermediary’ alleged to have been at the forefront of the scam that took place during the Ram Slam Twenty20.

The two former internationals are still playing professionally but are not part of South Africa's current set up.

As per the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act Law, those found guilty in the corruption scandal are likely to face possible jail sentences if criminal cases are pursued.

The law, passed after Hansie Cronje was banned for life ban for his role in match-fixing, contains a clause for sporting events
