The Pakistan all-rounder was recently involved in a verbal spat with a journalist during a press conference in Lahore, where he labelled a question asked to him as 'pathetic'.

The incident triggered a protest by the media outside the dressing room demanding an apology from the 35-year-old.

However, Flower, who is currently coaching Afridi-led Pakistan Super League franchise (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi, insisted that he knows the cricketer fairly well and that newspaper reports could be misleading, the Dawn reported.

Flower also added that Afridi was a completely different person from how he was portrayed in the media.
