New Delhi: Indian spin legend Anil Kumble on Tuesday rubbished reports which claimed he had stepped down as the chief mentor of the Mumbai Indians squad due to a conflict of interest angle.
Jumbo, who on Monday decided to end his journey with the IPL franchise, expressed his disappointment on Twitter.
Absolute Rubbish! Never was any conflict of interest! Certainly not the reason!!! pic.twitter.com/3ZJQQGfE93

Kumble, who has been associated with the Indian Premier League franchise since January 2013, has decided to pursue other opportunities in sports and cricket.
His decision was reported to be a move followed by a BCCI crackdown on conflict of interest in the board.
Earlier in the month, India team director Ravi Shastri was removed from the IPL Governing Council while selector Roger Binny, whose son Stuart is a member of the national team, was asked to leave.
