New Delhi: After India thrashed Pakistan by five-wickets in a low scoring encounter of Asia Cup T20, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar said that fielding was the major difference between both the teams.
India invited arch-rivals Pakistan to bat first, and bowled them out for a paltry total of 83 runs.
In a low-scoring affair at Mirpur, Indian fielding was top class, which helped the team in a big way to restrict Pakistan inside a small total.
"Difference between India and Pakistan was the fielding. Rival teams should be wary of the Indian fielders. Indian fielding has improved over the years. Players should be extremely careful when ball goes to the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli," Gavaskar told NDTV.
However, at one stage, India were losing their grip on the match, when they lost both the openers - Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane -- and Suresh Raina inside eight runs.
But then came Virat Kohli (49) and Yuvraj Singh (14*) in Team India's rescue and added a match-winning 68-run stand for the fourth wicket to take the game away from Pakistan.
The Little Master also heaped praise on Kohli and Yuvi for showing immense maturity under pressure.
"Virat Kohli deserves all the kudos for his innings. Yuvraj also showed maturity. Yuvraj was really cool under pressure. He and Kohli combined well," said Gavaskar.
