New Delhi: Batsman Umar Akmal on Monday became Pakistan's highest ever run-getter in T20 cricket.

The 25-year-old got to this milestone during his team's win over UAE in Match 6 of the Asia Cup 2016.


The right-hander scored an unbeaten fifty to help his side win their first match of the campaign.


Akmal went past Mohammad Hafeez on the list and now leads it with 1,559 runs from 73 matches.


His 50-run knock also helped Akmal to climb up to fourth on the list of highest run scorers in the T20Is.


The middle-order batsman hit 3 sixes and 2 fours against UAE.


In two matches so far, Pakistan have won 1 and lost 1.
