Speaking to The Times of India, Pakistan team manager Intikhab Alam hailed Amir's effort against India in the team's opening match of the tournament.

"His spell against India on Saturday has inspired the entire team. He is putting in the hard yards during practice and is our trump card," he said.

Alam further added that Amir's international comeback wasn't easy and the board had to sit with the Pakistani players to convince them after hearing their grievances against the pacer.

"It definitely wasn't easy. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) followed all procedures in order to enable Amir to play for Pakistan again. We sat down with players who were against his inclusion, heard their grievances and gave our opinion. After that, it didn't take too much time for us to have each and every member of the team on the same page. There is no animosity whatsoever towards Amir and he has the backing of the entire team, support staff and the PCB,"Alam added.

Amir has had a brilliant Asia Cup so far where he has picked five wickets and has conceded just 24 runs from eight overs.

The team would want him to put another stupendous show against Bangladesh in today's match, which is a must-win game for Shahid Afridi & Co.
