New Delhi: Cricket Australia (CA) has started their preparations for the next year's ICC World T20 in the right earnest by roping in former India player Sridharan Sriram as one of the mentors for the team.

Sridharan, 39, will help the reigning 50-50 world champions acclimatize in India for the tournament, which starts on March 8, according to a report in ESPNcricinfo.

The World T20 is the one last ICC tournament which has so far eluded the Australians.

Considering the demanding spinning tracks in India, CA has also called upon Mike Hussey. Sridharan will work the former Australian batsman in the lead-up and early stages of the World T20 in March.

Before the tournament, Sridharan will travel with Aussies on a three-match T20 tour of South Africa before Hussey returns to the Australian setup for the first two weeks of the tournament in India.

Sriram played eight ODIs for India from 2000 to 2004, and was expected to join the Australian team a bowling coaching consultant for their series in Bangladesh, but that tour was ultimately cancelled for security reasons.
