India vs Australia: Steve Smith blames bad shot, not commentary, for Adelaide dismissal

New Delhi: With speculations running that Channel Nine's commentary team is to be blamed for his dismissal in the first Twenty20 match in Adelaide, Smith stated that it was his poor shot that is the reason for hin being dismissed.

Australia were playing against India in the first of the three-match Twenty20 series.

Channel Nine's commentary team has faced criticism for on-field chat in the over when Smith got out, and the Aussie hitman said his shot was bad.

"It [the commentary] was on at the time, but for me it was just a bad shot. I tried to chip one over the top for two rather than trying to hit him for four or six. It was my fault and I got to do better next time," he said.

The on-field chat has receieved a lot of flak with technology's interference in the game being criticised from social media and analysts as Australia ended up losing the match by 37 runs.

Australian opener David Warner on the other hand defended Channel Nine's use of mike-chat technology, saying it is the players' responsibility to keep their concentration intact.
