India's tour of Australia: Five batsmen who will scorch Down Under

New Delhi: This Tuesday, one of cricket's most fascinating rivalries will be revived when India take on host Australia in Perth in the first of five One-Day International matches of the series [READ: Full schedule]. With salivating prospects, it's only fitting to pick the stars who will perform and inspire the rest their respective camps to success.

Here are the five batsmen who are sure to scorch the scoring charts Down Under this summer:

1. Virat Kohli: The 27-year-year has become the most talked about cricketer in the world. He is already anointed as the next Sachin Tendulkar -- the God of Cricket -- for the sheer similarities in the scoring traits.

With 23 ODI hundreds already in his name, the Delhi batsman is ready to take on the Australians, and stamp his authority Down Under too. If his brilliant Test outing in the previous visit there was anything to go by, and also the rather quite South Africa series at home, then, expect India's Test captain to plunder runs.

2. Steve Smith: A name which can be used as an synonym to consistency. Since taking the captaincy reigns, Smith has become the most reliable batsman for Australia. His ability to play match winning knocks has also been an exemplary part of his becoming a star of world cricket.

4. Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The skipper, the finisher. India's most successful captain is at the cross-road of his career. With age catching up with him and a certain Kohli on his heels to take over the limited captaincy roles too, Dhoni is for sure under pressure.

And this tour is his last chance to revive a seemingly fledging status as India's best captain, and also the finisher, ahead of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. Even in limited number of opportunities, the 34-year-old will perform.

5. David Warner: Like his skipper, Warner has become an integral part of any Australian set up. His consistency at the top of the innings was one of the reasons, Australia have a successful year in 2015.

He is expected to miss a majority of the ODI series, but when he gets the opportunity, expect him to punish the Indian bowlers. With an average of almost 55 at and strike rate of 110, the 29-year-old opener is a treat to watch.

Shikhar Dhawan, Aaron Finch, Ajinkya Rahane and Glenn Maxwell are some the names which, every now and then, are likely to produce sparkling innings.
