The Punjab bowler was handed the India cap by skipper MS Dhoni ahead of the 1st ODI of the five-match series against Australia.

Sran was officially integrated into the national side in the presence of fellow players and team director Ravi Shastri.

The youngster earned a call-up to the national side after having played only eight List A matches.

The 23-year-old picked up two wickets in the warm-up T20 game against Western Australia XI.

Though he did not strike in the warm-up ODI, Sran was economical and conceded just 22 runs in his seven-over spell.
