New Delhi: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar on Thursday hailed Virat Kohli as a player from another player. The Delhi batsman has been in supreme form, scoring for fun against the Australians at their own den.
Talking to NDTV, Gavaskar said that it's almost impossible to stop a batsman in such prime form. For the record, Kohli has scored in a sequence of 91, 59, 117, 106, 8 and 90 not out in the limited overs series Down Under.
“He is at the moment from a different planet. He is making it look so simple. The beauty about his batting is the top hand, when needed to play shots on the on side and the same delivery, same line, same length the bottom hand comes into play and he whips it to mid-wicket, so what does a bowler do. How does any bowler stop a man in such tremendous touch,” Gavaskar told NDTV.
The five innings are from the ODI outings, which India lost 1-4, while the 90* was from the first Twenty20 International, which India won by 37 runs to lead the three-match series 1-0.
The 27-year-old right handed batsman from Delhi is second in both the ODI and T20I ranking, behind AB de Villiers and Aaron Finch respectively.
