2nd ODI: Virat Kohli on verge of breaking AB de Villiers' world record vs Australia

New Delhi: Top order Indian batsman Virat Kohli is on the verge of crossing the 7000 runs in One Day Internationals as he is mere 78 runs shy of reaching the mark.

And if Kohli gets there within his next six innings, he will beat South African batsman AB de Villiers' as the fastest batsman of all time to the reach the milestone.

It took the Superman 166 innings to reached the landmark.

Kohli has already scored 6922 runs in mere 159 ODI innings.

Considering the way Kohli slammed 91 against Australia in the series opener, one can expect the mainstay of Indian batting line-up to break the record in the 2nd ODI, which is scheduled to take place at Brisbane Cricket Ground in Gabba.

India are trailing 1-0 in the five-match series against the Aussies.
