Australia vs South Africa: Rain halts AB de Villiers' 200th ODI match

New Delhi: Skipper AB de Villiers, appearing in his 200th One-Day International match for South Africa, appeared frustrated as rain halted play at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, on Sunday.

South Africa were asked to bat first by Australia in the seventh match of the Tri-Nation series in West Indies, but umpires stopped the play after one over.

Earlier, de Villiers became the sixth South African to appear in 200 or more ODIs. For the record, today's match was his 205th official ODI match having played for Africa XI in the now disbanded Afro-Asia Cup.

Regarded as one of the most destructive batsman ever, de Villiers has scored 8740 runs in ODIs with 24 hundreds in his name.

Leading the standings by a point over Australia and a further point ahead of hosts Windies, a win today will confirm South Africa's place in the final.
