New Delhi: As a part of their strict stand on all matters related to conflict of interest, the Office of the Ombudsman, has written a letter to BCCI president Shashank Manohar enquiring about former India captain Sourav Ganguly's multiple roles in administration.

 

According to a report in The Times of India, former Justice AP Shah ­ the CI-appointed Ombudsman, appointed by BCCI to exclusively look into such matters, has given Manohar and the present chief operating officer of the IPL, Ratnakar Shetty, two weeks time, until January 27, to respond to allegations of Ganguly coming within the conflict zone.

The former Indian skipper, is not only the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, but also a member of the Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council.

 

“The Office of the Ombudsman has received an application from Niraj Gunde, making certain allegations regarding conflict of interest against Sourav Ganguly , President of the Cricket Association of Bengal and a member of the IPL Governing Council. Please provide your response to the same within two weeks,“ the Ombudsman's mail stated.

The Office of the Ombudsman has also asked the Indian board for Ganguly's contact details at the earliest so that he can be communicated with regarding the issue.
