New Delhi: Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur on Friday said that the final decision regarding the future of Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) hosting the ICC World Twenty20 matches will be taken on February.
Interacting with the media after announcing India's 15-man squad for ICC World Twenty20, Thakur said, "The BCCI SGM will be held in the third week of February, but before that we will take a final call on whether Kotla will host matches of the ICC World Twenty20 on February 8."
He also announced that the tickets for World T20 will be up for sale from February 9.
There was some positive news for DDCA on Thursday as they got 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) from the central government's Land and Development Office (L&DO).
The DDCA is set to submit NOC document in Delhi High Court today.
"Today we have received the NOC from L&DO. There was a slight comedy of error which happened. After we deposited Rs 83 lakh as the lease assessment fee, it was observed by L&DO department that it was DDCA which was supposed to get Rs 83 lakh approx from the government department as we had deposited extra amount earlier which needed to be refunded by them.
Therefore we would get back around Rs 1.66 crore (83+83 lakhs) from them," a senior DDCA official told PTI on Feb 4.
DDCA has been under the scanner in the last few months since they are facing allegations of several financial irregularities.
