Odisha: Maoists set ablaze telephone exchange
Armed Maoists set ablaze a telephone exchange and a mobile tower belonging to the BSNL in Odisha`s Koraput district early on Sunday.

the BSNL in Odisha`s Koraput district early on Sunday.
A group of Maoists stormed into the telephone exchange situated at Onkadeli, around 60 km from here, under Machkund police limits and poured kerosene all over the room before setting it on fire, police said. The mobile tower located at the site was also set afire by the red rebels who disappeared into the nearby forest after the attack, they said.
"There has been no report of any injury or casualty. The Maoists had asked the lone watchman to vacant the office before setting it on fire. The rebels have not left any poster or banner at the site," said SDPO Sunabeda Ashok Pattnaik. "No explosives were used to damage the mobile tower. Additional force had been rushed to the spot after the incident," he added.
Steps have been taken to intensify combing operation in the area.
