New Delhi: While the high-voltage encounter between India and Pakistan in ICC World Twenty20 is under scrutiny, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have said that they have been promised of highest level of security by the Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI).
Speaking to The Times of India, PCB chief Shahryar Khan said that the board has been reassured of all security measures by the Indian board.
“I came to know about this some time ago through the TV channels. However, I was called up by the BCCI officials and clearly told that there is nothing to worry as the issues will be resolved. I was promised that the Pakistan team will be provided with the highest level of security when we arrive in India," Khan said.
The match between the arch rivals came under trouble after Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh refused to provide security for the marquee clash.
BCCI secretary slammed Singh's concerns and said that the venues had been decided much in advance and also stressed on the fact that several fans from across the globe have already booked their tickets.
