ICC World T20: There are no security concerns in India, says Inzamam ul Haq

New Delhi: At a time when high-profile match between India-Pakistan of the ICC World T20 in Dharamsala is under scrutiny due to security concerns, former Pakistan skipper Inzamam ul Haq said that he never felt unsafe in India.

"I believe there are no security concerns. The players also enjoy playing in India. In our 2005 tour here, people treated us so nicely. No one took money when we shopped or ate out," Inzamam said at Aaj Tak Cricket Salaam conclave.

Indo-Pak match, which is possibly the biggest game of the tournament, has been under scrutiny since Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh said he opposed the BCCI's decision to stage it in his state.

While BCCI has assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of complete security to their player, but several groups have threatened to disrupt this encounter.

While talking about the old rivalry between India and Pakistan, Inzy asserted that it's bigger than the Ashes.

"It's unfair if the two countries do not play cricket. It's bigger than Ashes. There is more following," Inzamam said.

Like most of the former cricketers, Inzamam also feels that India are the favourites to win the World T20.

"All teams have good top-orders. Australia have, South Africa have. But it is important to have a strong lower order. India has the best lower order and that's a big plus," he said.

While taking about Pakistan chances he stated that Shahid Afridi and Mohammed Amir would be key players for Pakistan in the World T20.
