ICC World Twenty20: Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz hit by ball during practice, goes for scan

New Delhi: During a practice session on Monday, Pakistani cricketer Wahab Riaz was hit by the cricket ball at the PCA stadium after which he was taken for a scan at a private hospital.

"The throw hit him between the neck and shoulder. He has gone for the scan just as a precautionary measure," Pakistan media manager Agha Akbar told PTI.

Asked how the throw hit him, Akbar said, "someone threw the ball and it hit him accidentally".

About the left-arm pacer's condition, he said, "otherwise he is okay".

After losing to India on Saturday in a high-voltage clash at Eden Gardens, Pakistan will now look to regain the winning momentum in their next match against New Zealand, which is scheduled to take place at PCA stadium.
