ICC World Twenty20: Warm-up games shifted out of Mumbai's BKC ground

New Delhi: The three warm-up games of the ICC World Twenty20, scheduled at the Mumbai Cricket Association's Bandra Kurla Complex ground, have been shifted to the Wankhede Stadium and Cricket Club of India's Brabourne Stadium.

The ICC World T20 starts in India from March 8 with the qualifying matches being played. The top teams who have already qualified are in line to play warm-up games before the main draw.

The treasurer of Mumbai Cricket Association said that there will be no games at BKC.

"There are no warm-up games at BKC. One game on the 12th has been shifted to the Wankhede Stadium and the last two games on the 14th and 15th will be held at the CCI," Nitin Dalal said.

New Zealand will face Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium on March 10.

New Zealand will also face England in the warm-up game at the Wankhede Stadium on March 12, before India clash with an in-form South Africa at the same venue.

The last two warm-up games at the Brabourne Stadium, on March 14 and 15, would feature England and South Africa respectively against local sides.
