"As I had said time and time again we live in the present. Focus should be till the World Cup. We are employed by BCCI and they will judge the performance. My job is to take care of the Indian team."

India are currently embroiled in a three-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka at home.

When asked about the possibility of becoming a full time coach of the Indian team, Shastri said he will look at the matter after the ICC 2016 Twenty20 World Cup.

"I don't know. We have time till World Cup we will see after that," Shastri said.

India haven't appointed a coach after Duncan Fletcher's spell ended last year in March.

After India's loss against an inexperienced Sri Lankan side in the first T20I, a lot was said about the Pune pitch with Shastri too criticising it.

Ahead of the 2nd outing in Ranchi on Friday, Shastri said India have the resources to play in all conditions, adding that he hasn't seen the pitch yet.

"I haven't seen the pitches yet but what I see from the outfield it's pretty dry. Lot of sand on the outfield which clearly suggests that they did not have water here. I have not had a look at the pitch but we are game to play horses for courses.”

He also went on to add that India have the resources for different conditions.

"That's what we did all the time and if the pitch demands, it will be that. If you think it's going to turn we have the resources and that's the idea of this team to have resources for different conditions."
