Gurgaon: Premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes India, which has recorded a historic T20 series win in the recently-concluded tour to Australia, will need to adjust to the home conditions quickly if they desire to win the ICC Twenty20 World Cup for a second time.
"Now we are back in India conditions. We need to understand that the Indian conditions are very different. The grounds are smaller than what it was in Australia," the 29-year-old spinner told reporters during a promotional event.
"We will have to match up again with the ground sizes, the wicket and pace of wickets . It's pretty much about taking as many lessons as possible from Asia Cup before the World Cup," Ashwin added.
Ashwin also welcomed the inclusion of youngsters Jaspreet Bumrah and Hardik Pandya in the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup and World T20, saying that the duo deserved to be in the team on the back of their impressive performances in Australia.
"I think Bumrah and Pandya did really well. We won that series and that pretty much gave us indication how good they were. I am very happy for them," Ashwin said.
