ICC World T20 2016: After stunning India, New Zealand seek to improve T20I record vs Australia
Black Caps are up against Australia, a side which has won four of their previous five meetings.
Dharamsala: New Zealand got off to a dream start in the ongoing ICC World Twenty20, where they crushed hosts India by 47 runs in the tournament opener.
Kiwis, who had never lost a T20I match against India prior to the match, kept the record intact as their spinners ripped through India's star-studded batting line-up.
However, the tables have turned as the Black Caps today are up against Australia, a side which has won four of their previous five meetings.
Australia have had a mixed performance in the T20I format lately. They were whitewashed 3-0 by India in January at home, but bounced back by defeating South Africa 2-1 in an away series.
The Steve Smith-side, which won their fourth ICC World Cup title last year, are a terrific side which comprises several big-hitters in David Warner, Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh. Smith's consistency has been phenomenal across formats and he would be looking to lead his side to another title.
On the other hand, Kane Williamson and his boys would take a lot of confidence from the win against India, and there is no reason why they can't improve their record against the Aussies in T20Is today.
