New Delhi: It was quite evident to experts, fans and cricketers that Virat Kohli was in a league of his own during India's campaign at the ICC World Twenty20.
Despite the Men in Blue crashing out in the semi-final, the 2016 edition of the WT20 will be remembered for the 27-year-old's batting genius.
With three consecutive unbeaten fifties in the tournament, Kohli showed why he has now surpassed even AB de Villiers as the best batsman in this format.
After being applauded by the Pakistanis and the Australians, it was turn of West Indies players to give Virat his due at Wankhede on Thursday.
When the Delhi batsman went over to West Indies' dressing room to congratulate their players for making it to the finals, several of them wanted a photograph with India's vice-captain.
While Chris Gayle and Virat are good friends, the likes of Ashley Nurse and Carlos Brathwaite were awestruck by the Indian batsman.
Moreover, they wanted to capture this memorable moment with someone who truly did not deserve to end up on the losing side.
International players are all stars in their own right. But on this occasion, even the stars knew they were in special company.
