"I have a 16- year-old son (Austin Waugh) and I have told him 'if you need someone as your role model, I think he should be Virat Kohli'.

“He (Austin) should aspire to play like him,” Waugh told Mumbai Mirror.

The mainstay of Indian batting line-up Kohli has played 161 ODIs thus far and has 22 hundreds under his belt with a healthy average of above 50. In Test cricket too, Kohli has proved his mettle with 11 tons in mere 37 matches.

With a word of caution, Waugh also claimed that the 27-year-old Indian will go down as an all-time great.

“Technically, he is fantastic. I think he is probably the best batsman in the world. I like aggression in players, if it can be controlled. Sometimes, Virat crosses the line a little bit, but I like his passion.

"Virat Kohli will go down as an all-time great,” added Waugh.
