New Delhi: Virat Kohli-led India completed an emphatic series win against South Africa as they defeated Hashim Amla & Co by 377 runs in the final Test played at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.
Here are few records which were created by players from both the teams:
Jadeja bowled 17 consecutive maidens. He was close to breaking Bapu Nadkarni's 51-year-old record of 21 successive maidens.
The last time more than 75 maidens were bowled by Indian bowlers in a Test innings was 50 years ago - 85 overs vs NZ at Chennai in Feb 1965.
This is India's biggest win in terms of runs. Earlier they defeated Australia by 320 runs in 2008.
On the other hand, the 377-run loss is South Africa's second biggest in terms of runs.
India now have won 127 Tests, the most by an Asian team overtaking Pakistan (126 wins).
JP Duminy's average against India in this series was 10.62. The left-hander has never performed so badly against any country in a Test series.
Batting in their second innings, South Africa scored just 49 runs from the first 50 overs.
Hashim Amla broke the record of most number of balls faced for a single-digit score after he took 113 balls to score 6 runs on Day 4 of fourth Test against India. He went past Australian Carl Rackemann who had taken 102 balls to get to 9 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane became the first Indian cricketer to score centuries in both innings against South Africa.
In his previous Tests, Rahane had hit five sixes. However, in this Test alone, the right-hander smashed seven sixes.
