New Delhi: Veteran Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh and discarded English cricketer Kevin Pietersen are reportedly among 12 players to have made available for the highest base price of INR 2 crore (approx $296,000) for the IPL players auction.
According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, these players with base price of Rs 2 crore feature in a 714-strong long list – accessed by ESPNcricinfo – which will be trimmed by January 25 to form the final pool of players for the auction.
The auction is scheduled for February 6 in Bangalore.
Ashish Nehra, Ishant Sharma, Mitchell Marsh, Dinesh Karthik, Stuart Binny, Sanju Samson and Dhawal Kulkarni are the other Indians who have put a reserved price of INR 2 crore against their respective names. Shane Watson and retired Michael Hussey are also in the same category.
In the upcoming auction, along with two new franchises – Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG) and the yet-to-be-named Rajkot team, beleaguered Delhi Daredevils will once again look to sign key players after it released Yuvraj and Angelo Mathews, whom they bought for Rs 16 crore and 7.5 crores respectively last year.
