New Delhi: When it comes to entertainment in sports broadcasting, Kiwi Danny Morrison has miles ahead of his peers.
The former Kiwi pacer's energy and enthusiasm is infectious and tends to bring a smile on the faces of players and fans.
However he runs the risk of going overboard at times and that's what happened during the game between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mohali.
The 50-year-old was seen sporting a red turban and a fake beard during the pre-game show as well as at the coin toss.
Danny's new avatar clearly failed to impress some and he was severely criticized across social media platforms.
Surely Danny Morrison dressing up like that is just not ok. I am sure I will get called PC fun police etc but it's just not.

Danny Morrison dressing up as a Sikh is wrong on so many levels. It's offensive to our intelligence. They're trying to dumb you down.

Morrison defended his actions, stating he was only following orders from the host broadcaster.
#vivoipl2016 Dear sports fans, especially those in UK / SA / NZ..host broadcaster Sony tv asked me to dress up & we cleared wth bosses!

Countryman and commentary colleague Scott Styris too sided with the former Kiwi pacer on this issue.
Pathetic from some people who simply want to moan about anything https://t.co/KWEWktUR58
