New Delhi: In a bid to reverse their faltering fortunes, Kings XI Punjab on Saturday sacked David Miller as team captain. Murali Vijay will lead the team for the rest of 2016 Indian Premier Leagaue season.
"Kings XI Punjab announces M Vijay as the captain for Kings XI Punjab for the remaining part of the IPL 2016 tournament. David Miller continues to be an integral part of the team and is a very strong player of the squad," the team said in a statement.
Miller, known as one of the world's best batting talents, has so far failed to perform both as an individual and as the leader. He could managed just 76 runs in six innings, and in those six outings, the team had suffered five loses.
In contrast, Vijay has been one of the top scorers of the team, with an aggregate of 142 runs from same numbers of innings.

With two points, KXIP are at the bottom of the table.
It will not be an easy task for Vijay to bail out out the team out of trouble. And his first game as captain is against table-toppers Gujarat Lions tomorrow at Rajkot.
