New Delhi: BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who left for heavenly abode yesterday, donated his eyes to Vanmukta Eye Bank, a part of the city's Susrut Eye Foundation and Research Centre.

"It may be recalled that social welfare programmes about 'Eradication of Blindness' which included restoration of eye-sight through cornea grafting and transplantations were initiated by Mr. Dalmiya earlier," BCCI was quoted as saying in a press release.


"The themes were widely known as 'Cricket for Life beyond Death' and 'Chance of Second Innings'," it stated.
