TEA: Ballance is fighting a lone battle for his team. The runs have dried up since Vince's dismissal. We all are aware of Ali's capabilities with the bat and the hosts need these two to stitch a formidable stand to put their team into a respectable position.

Sohail Khan is unstoppable today! Soon after dismissing Vince, the pacer produced another edge, this time of Bairstow's bat and Ahmed grabbed another one behind the wicket. Superb control over line and length by Sohail and he has given his side a real chance of remaining on top in this Test. Moeen Ali is the new man in and like he has done on numerous occasions in the past, the left-hander needs to take his team out of dire straits.

Sohail Khan picked his third wicket of the match when he removed James Vince for 39. Batting well, a defensive shot from the batsman led to an edge and Younis Khan held on to a low catch at the slip cordon. The wicket also ended the good-looking 69-run stand for the fourth wicket. Johnny Bairstow is the new man in and he needs to give good company to Ballance, who is looking all set for a big score.

Over 30 | Score 122/3 | (Vince 29*, Ballance 26*)
Post lunch, both Vince and Ballance have adopted a positive approach towards batting as they are not looking to keep the scoreboard moving. Both the batsman have played some delightful strokes and Misbah would want his bowlers to dismiss one of them as soon as possible.
Over 26 | Score 100/3 | (Vince 16*, Ballance 18*)
After losing two big wickets of Root and captain Cook, Vince and Ballance have weathered the storm to an extent with a decent-looking stand. Irrespective of the circumstances, the pair has played some confident strokes against Pakistani pacers, who have dominated the first session so far. Misbah would be very happy with the performances of his pacement in the first session.

After dismissing Hales, Sohail picked his second wicket of the innings, big one of Joe Root who nicked one in the skip cordon to Mohammad Hafeez. Despite those two blows, Cook continued to find boundaries but his resistance didn't last for long as he was trapped in front of the wicket by Rahat Ali. Big three breakthroughs for Pakistan and the pacers have already put them in a commanding position. James Vince and Gary Ballance are the two new batsmen at the crease and the hosts are in desperate need of a partnership here.

Sohail Khan got the first breakthrough for Pakistan as he dismissed Hales for 17 in the ninth over of the innings. It was a brilliant ball which moved away from Hales, took an edge and landed into Sarfaraz's gloves. Hales poor run in the series continues. Joe Root is the new man in. Cook has looked good so far with four boundaries.
