New Delhi: Australian cricket team is known to break cricketing records in all formats of the game, but their first Test match against Sri Lanka got them breaking an unwanted record.
During the ninth wicket partnership between Peter Nevill and Steve O’ Keefe, the Aussies set a new world record of lowest run rate ever - 0.13 per over.
The pair could only put 4 runs in 178 balls for the ninth wicket in the fourth innings, with the Australian side scoring at all for 25.4 overs before being bowled out by the Lankans.
From the last 32.4 overs bowled in the match, 31 were maiden (not considering the final 4 balls bowled).
