New Delhi: Days after she was in news for her controversial interview with Chris Gayle during a Big Bash League (BBL) game, sports journalist Mel McLaughlin is once again in news for offering to buy a former cricketer a drink after she got his name wrong on live TV.
The Network Ten sports presenter mistakenly referred to Mark Waugh as Damien Fleming and then apologised to him by saying she'd buy him a drink.
Soon after the incident took place, social media was quick to react to McLaughlin's comments, drawing parallels between her remarks and Chris Gayle's 'don't blush baby', gaffe earlier this month.
Many even asked whether she would be fined for her remarks.

The West Indian was fined USD 7,000 for his approach to McLaughlin last week, which provoked a storm of outrage among other female journalists who aired complaints against the swashbuckling batsman.
