Pakistan minister opposes cricket tour to India

Islamabad: Rejecting a proposed tour by Pakistan's cricket team to India, Pakistani interior minister Nisar Ali Khan said on Monday that he was against any such move which he considers as an "insult".

Khan's remarks came after media reports said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited the Pakistan cricket team for a short tour to India next month instead of playing against Pakistan in a home series in the UAE.

Geo TV reported that the tough talk by the interior minister dimmed prospects of resuming cricketing ties as Khan said that he opposes any decision by the government or cricket authorities to go to India.

"I consider any visit by Pakistani team to India as an insult," he said.

Khan said he was angry at the recent treatment of Pakistani personalities in India which he condemned.

The BCCI is reluctant to play against Pakistan for a regular series away from India and is reportedly urging the Pakistan to visit India in December.
