New Delhi: Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi is interested in taking part in the upcoming season of Big Bash League (BBL).
Afridi said that he had offers from BBL for the last few years, but he wasn’t able to accept the offer due to international commitments.
“I was offered to play Big Bash League in Australia almost every season in the last two or three years but I wasn’t able to take the offer due to my international commitments,” Afridi was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
The veteran cricketer added further, “But if I am offered it this year I’ll surely give it a go.”
The swashbuckling batsman feels that he still has got good 2 years of cricket in him and added that he is working hard on his fitness.
“I am very focused on cricket and want to continue it. I am looking after myself very well and working hard on my fitness,” he remarked. “I still feel that I can play for the next couple of years whether it is for Pakistan or PSL [Pakistan Super League], Big Bash or England [domestic] T20s,” he signed-off.
At present, Afridi, 36, is playing for Hampshire in England’s domestic T20 competition.
