Pranav Dhanawade: After accolades, Mumbai teenager to get bats named after him

A Meerut-based bat manufacturing company will soon launch a line of bats with P-1009 printed on them.

New Delhi: Pranav Dhanawade, the 15-year-old who has hogged the limelight for his blistering 1009-run knock, is now all set to get bats named after him.

Stanford (SF) Cricket - a bat manufacturing company in Meerut, whose bat was reportedly used by the teenager to go past the four-digit score, will be launching a line-up of bats that will have the wonder kid’s name and the runs scored by him on them.

The company has also mentioned that a big share of credit for that record-breaking knock goes to their bat and they will soon be launching the line-up by the upcoming month to mark the historic knock.

According to a report in Times of India, Dhanawade's bat broke after he had scored more that 200 runs and he was provided a new bat manufactured by SF by his school coach Harish Sharma.

“When Pranav’s bat broke, I got an SF bat from the school store for him. It was the same one with which he had practiced at school. He had always shown an inclination to play with that bat but because it was school property, we could give it to him earlier only for practice,” the coach was quoted saying.

Rachit Sareen, director of Stanford Cricket Industries revealed, “We are starting a line of bats with P-1009 printed on them, which stand for ‘Pranav’ and the runs he made. The series will be out by next month. All of us are very happy that a world record was made with our bat and I have been receiving congratulatory messages since the news came out.”

Earlier, Stanford Cricket had shared Pranav's photo on their Twitter account where he can be seen holding their bat during the epic knock.
