Hyderabad: Rohan Prem proved to be lone ranger with a monumental double hundred before Kerala were all out for 401 in their Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match against Hyderabad here on Friday.

At stumps on the second day at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad were 40 for one, still 361 runs behind in their first innings.


Leg-spinner Akash Bhandari was the most successful bowler for the home team, returning impressive figures of five for 72.


Earlier, resuming on overnight 186 for five, Kerala rode Prem's knock to get to a big total. The 29-year-old left-handed batsman, who started the day on 106, got out after making 208 off 452 balls while staying 592 minutes in the middle.


In the process of scoring his maiden double ton, Prem struck 19 boundaries and three sixes. While the one-down batsman was way ahead in terms of contribution with the bat, opener V A Jagadeesh and Raiphi Gomez made 42 and 41 respectively.


After sharing 91 runs for the second wicket Jagadeesh, Prem added was involved in a valuable stand of 94 for the seventh wicket with K Monish (37).


In between, he also shared 74 runs for the sixth wicket with his overnight partner Gomez.


Coming in at number nine, Fabid Ahmed contributed 37 off 66 balls to take the score past 400.
