Earlier in the month, news of his daughter's death had gone viral after an image of a girl wearing a pink dress and covered in rose petals did on the rounds on social media networks.
Afridi posted a photograph with his daughter inside a hospital. He also wrote a message 'Get Well Soon ASMARA ! Ameen'
On April 25, there were reports on Twitter suggesting Asmara had passed away due to cancer.
The reports were false and misleading as she was actually hospitalized and was undergoing a surgery.
